Sanderson Contemporary Art

BOUNCY

Group Exhibition, 16 February - 7 March 2010

Sanderson Contemporary Art’s exhibition BOUNCY reinterprets ideas influenced by both Pop Art and Modernism

while using iconography or materials drawn from the here-and-now.

The title of the show is pointedly over-the-top – a cheerful word conveying the shine and slickness of a bright

rubber ball; a throw-away term, implying both unruliness and the unknown.

This is a must-see show which will provide you with an introduction to 12 of our hottest emerging artists.

Performance!, Shunt lounge, London >> Beatabet AllFours -with AK/DK

Saturday the 7th of March 2009

-A collaboration with Brighton Synth Rock duo AK/DK at London's Shunt Lounge.

This was part of the Beatabet showcase at the legendary and soon to be gone crypt venue

under london Bridge station.

Massive respect to Gee and Ed from AK/DK -amazing musicians with great energy.

So what was new this time??

I started inviting members of the audience to partake.

Working on a makeshift wall -Half an hour later we had 20 people working on it.

I always liked that a visual performance is not a dead inanimate object for quiet contemplation

-it is a living breathing experience -and actively engages the audience directly with

the creative process as the central concept of the work.

What was different here is that the audience became directly involved in the creation of the artwork

and the experience -as participators rather than as viewers.

I am going to contribute meaningfully to the world in which I live.

A thoughtful revolution that will not be televised. One that’s already here.

The perseverance of a rebel I drop heavier levels

I’m Unseen, a King through my words, lines and means

I’ve come out to hustle and I’ve seen how hard it is

Dark spots in my mind where those scenes occurred.

Some say I’m too deep, I am too deep to sleep

Through me, my heroes continue to speak

I greet my brothers and sisters with handshakes in surrealist landscapes

Where matters are determined by what you give through what you make

Bring on the zodiac tracks, paintings and art raps by cats with diamonds for thoughts.

Me and my friends

We get caught up in collective waters but then try to untap

Want to be in the rat race just don’t wanna run laps

I’ve run so far from home its too far to go back

Some children with nowhere to unpack forget that.

My Art is for real with themes you can feel

Look through the glass and fly

The Art behind will provide

When I paint and draw its with love in my eyes

I am the truth

Across the table from corporate lives

Immortalised by the realness that I bring

If revolution had a movie I’d be painting the set.
