MICHAEL HAWKINS

Born in Auckland, New Zealand (1982). Currenty lives and works in Oporto, Portugal.

ART PRACTICE

Drawing, Painting, Installation, Live/ Performance, Print, Construction, Collaborative.

• In my performance work I am interested in seeking collaborative encounters that are intimately connected to the truth of a particular moment –for example; the recording of an experience or moment in time through an instantaneously produced visual record.

• My 2D work utilises all that is fantastical, imagined and grandiose into an ever evolving exploration of the iconographical power of imagery to depict themes, both universal and personal.
